The Challenge of Stabilization

In a conventional water-based formula, antioxidant molecules are inherently unstable. They interact with each other and with their environment through ionization and electron exchanges — a process that rapidly degrades their structure and neutralizes their efficacy. By the time a standard product reaches the skin, a significant portion of its active potential is already lost.

This instability is a particularly key challenge for the molecules ALPHASCIENCE works with:  pure L-ascorbic acid, Cysteamine and ECGC are among the most potent antioxidants available in cosmeceutical science — and among the most difficult to preserve in a formula.

How NextGen® Works

NextGen® is a unique stabilization system based on the advanced modulation of antioxidant ionization and electron transfer processes.

In practical terms, it acts as a molecular shield within the formula. By controlling the ionic environment in which the active molecules coexist, NextGen® prevents the degradation reactions that would otherwise occur — keeping each ingredient structurally intact, bioavailable, and active from the moment of formulation through to its absorption into the skin.

The results are  measurable.

• Pure L-ascorbic acid stabilized with NextGen® technology remains active in the skin for up to 10 hours
